build transformed lives
Freedom Construction Services (FCS) is a Quality Pre-Apprenticeship (QPA) program recognized by the Iowa Office of Apprenticeship and the National Apprenticeship System. FCS is a paid employment training program of Freedom for Youth Ministries that teaches basic trades, essential employment, and critical life skills within a construction services environment. Our QPA program teaches carpentry, flooring, and general construction, while also introducing students to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC skills under the instruction and close supervision of veteran teachers and mentors skilled in the construction trades. While learning valuable skills in a social enterprise, participants have the opportunity to earn as they learn and build the muscle and skills for long-term employability.
Freedom Construction Services partnered with local contractors, trade unions and construction companies to identify hard and soft skills necessary for long-term employment success in the building trades. We’ve created a real-world learning environment, built on faith in and love of Jesus, to develop participants’ God-given talents and help young Iowans lead transformed lives.
