About Us

Freedom Construction Services is a social enterprise of Freedom for Youth Ministries, created to bring employment and skilled trades training to young Iowans.

In 2017, Freedom for Youth purchased the former Bike World warehouse located just west of its Des Moines campus and the first employment skills training location, Freedom Blend Coffee. With the generosity, volunteer labor and support of many volunteers, donors, and businesses within the community, the structure was renovated into a skilled trades learning center and fully operational construction business.

Freedom Construction Services empowers young adults by providing work training and life skills that produce development, restoration, and hope. The ministry teaches job skills and gives young adults invaluable knowledge and work experience for future employment. Soft skills - such as communication, customer service, conflict resolution within the workplace, and financial literacy - are also critical components of the training curriculum.
