Program

Freedom Construction Services teaches young people the importance of work ethic, the fundamentals of working in the skilled trades, and how to apply their God-given talents in long-term, sustainable employment.

Program Details

Participants begin with a one-week onboarding period during which they get acclimated to their surroundings and expectations. The FCS team works with them to solve any transportation or housing issues, identify and secure required clothing, and make other plans to ensure that they can focus on the program once they’re fully engaged.

The program runs between nine months and one year to complete, and is divided into three distinct phases: classroom training, skills training and field training.

The program is limited to 12 participants at any particular time to provide an ideal leader-to-student ratio for learning and a more meaningful experience.

Participants will typically work Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Students will receive mentoring from staff and volunteers with extensive experience in the building trades throughout their training experience.

Graduation

Upon graduation, program participants will have:

  • adapted to and demonstrated an understanding of what is expected in the real world of work in the skilled trades.

  • experienced and gained general knowledge of and skills in the trade professions and identified one in which to specialize.
